In this English-language course, participants develop a solid foundation in the technical fundamentals of the cold chain. Designed specifically for operational personnel, the course focuses on the practical application of refrigeration technology in day-to-day operations. Participants learn how refrigeration systems are designed and operate, which key components play a role, and how these work together to maintain stable and safe chilled and frozen conditions.

In the workplace, participants learn to read and interpret system information such as graphs, alerts, and displays, and to recognize abnormal patterns that may indicate malfunctions or risks to product quality. They practice analyzing first-line faults, following standard checklists, and determining appropriate actions, including when escalation is necessary.

In addition, participants develop insight into the relationship between refrigeration technology, product, and quality. They learn how factors such as loading, airflow, doors, sensors, and product intake affect storage conditions, and how technical deviations directly impact product quality.

Safe working practices form an integral part of the module. Participants learn to identify the key risks in and around refrigeration systems, including refrigerants, low oxygen levels, and electrical hazards. They practice emergency procedures, work in accordance with risk assessments, and learn how to respond correctly to incidents.
